Kodiyala is a scenic town near Mysore, Karnataka. The weavers here adapt age-old handloom weaving techniques on looms that do not need a pit to operate. A once flourishing cluster with a lot of unique characteristics in the sarees made, this area has very few weavers and even lesser varieties today. However with a little push, they will come back as a force to reckon with!

Disclaimer

This style is made by hand on a pit loom making it an original handloom item. You will therefore see small holes across both ends of the saree which signify the fabric being held tightly while the weaver creates it. This is the beauty of this saree and not a defect.
