Avid shoppers ourselves, We noticed that most home grown fashion companies had to make a hard choice between preserving heritage Indian arts or creating brands that are mass produced and commercial-led in nature. Slowly over the years, a fair share of people have opted to build brands that are mass produced, inventory heavy and discount driven.
Our CEO, Hema, started Seven Sarees by not making this hard choice and firmly believing that to bring Indian heritage sarees back into the mainstream and not fall victim to over creation, one needs to be completely backed by technology.
Our sarees are super modern, yet intensely respectful of traditions and the sentiment behind creating every saree. We believe, among the most direct ways we can limit ecological impacts, is to create high quality products that last for generations or can be recycled so the materials in them remain in use. Using the best fabric , made in the best possible way, really matters for the planet. Our success ,and much of the fun, lies in developing new ways to do this.
In short, we are just like you, we are obsessed with the heritage of our country, proud of the wonderful textile base that has clothed billions of people and truly believe this is the right time to start giving back to the country and our artisans.
